Birdwatching, or “birding,” is a great way to connect with nature around you, anywhere and everywhere. We invite you to come along with us and find your favorite way to enjoy birds and nature.
Neighborhood Bird Outings
Join us for a casual walk or sit at a Seattle neighborhood or park, you may be surprised by what we find. Neighborhood Bird Outings are free, open to the public, with no pre-registration required. They are appropriate for people with a little or a lot of prior birding experience. Group size will vary.
Field Trips
Small group birding day trips are led year-round by experienced guides to destinations throughout the state. Beginners are encouraged to join any field trip. Demand for field trips is high and attendees for some trips are selected via lottery. All trips have a $15 per person attendance fee (waivers available).Â

Travel with expert leaders and a small group while your trip fees directly support local conservation through Birds Connect Seattle.Â

Community Science
Join area birdwatchers in contributing to our scientific understanding of birds in our area through one of our many community science programs.
Youth Programs
Birds Connect Seattle offers a variety of activities for our youngest bird enthusiasts from preschoolers to teens, all year round.
Classes
Classes are taught by experts in their respective fields and occur both online and in-person. Pre-registration is required (registration fees are on a sliding scale to fit all budgets), and all registrants of online classes will receive the class recordings. Many of our classes include an in-field bird watching component to practice your new found skills.
