Options

Effectiveness

CollidEscape BirdTape has been tested and approved by the American Bird Conservancy. It is estimated to reduce collisions by 85% when applied to the outside surface of windows and spaced two inches apart. Larger spacing reduces the effectiveness.

Cost

The cost will vary based on the width of the BirdTape used. Treating a 3′ x 5′ window with 3/4″-wide BirdTape will require approximately 65 feet of tape, for a cost of around $36.  Wider tapes are more cost effective: 3″-wide BirdTape would require just 35 feet of tape, costing around $25.

Installation

CollidEscape BirdTape is adhesive and simple to apply. Care and patience are needed to ensure the product is applied in straight lines. See the video below for an example of applying CollidEscape BirdTape .
